Celebrate Holiday Events in South Bay
With the holiday season officially here, we have created a Holiday Event Guide for Events in South Bay, so you can find lots of fun things to do, to celebrate in and around this Festive season!
The Hermosa Beach Chamber is doing the Holidays a little differently this year. It’ll be a three-day event featuring great local food and drinks, an ice-skating rink, live music, and ending with a tree lighting on Sunday, November 21st.
The annual Manhattan Beach Pier Lighting is happening on November 17th and Holiday Open House is the official start of the holiday season in Manhattan Beach. It is also downtown Manhattan Beach’s local restaurants, retail stores and businesses way of saying thank you to their customers and community for their support and patronage throughout the year. Downtown merchants will be open until 9:00 PM and are sure to offer some distinctive gifts and intriguing offers this holiday season. The restaurants will be serving their original menus and some sampling to get your palette started for an evening of wonderful food. Bring your kids and remember your shopping list!

Downtown Torrance Holiday Stroll – Dec.1st, 5 pm – 8 pm
Kick-off the holiday season at the Downtown Torrance Holiday Stroll! Businesses and stores will be open late with special sales and activities. Vendors, DJ Ozzie, live music from Ashleigh, entertainment, craft booths, snow, and Santa on a 1915 Fire Truck!
Menorah Lighting at City Hall Plaza – Dec.1st, 5.30 pm
Be sure to join us on Wednesday, December 1, at 5:30 p.m., as El Segundo celebrates Hanukkah with the annual Menorah Lighting at City Hall Plaza.
Christmas Tree Lighting in Redondo Beach – Dec. 3rd, 4 pm -5 pm
Join Shade Hotel Redondo Beach on December 3rd for a dazzling Christmas Tree Lighting from 4 to 5 p.m.
As a free-entry event, the community is invited to gather together and marvel at the beautifully strung lights twisting and decorating our traditional Christmas tree.
The merriment of this event includes wonderful carolers, hot chocolate, smooth egg nog, and a s’mores cart.
The tree will be lit at 4:45 p.m.
Pet Photos with Santa
Bring your four-legged family members to share holiday wishes with Santa every Monday! Pet photos will be available on November 22, 29, and December 6, 13, and 20.

South Coast Botanic Garden’s GLOW
Rancho Palos Verdes/Rolling Hills Estates – Until Jan 17, 2022
Take a twinkly walkthrough South Coast Botanic Garden during the return of this illuminated, after-hours installation, which runs from just before Thanksgiving until after New Year’s. GLOW will mark its second year with the addition of themed nights (think: ugly sweaters, neon) and some new lit-up areas, including the lavender garden, koi pond, Fuschia garden, and lower meadow.

Marina del Rey Boat Parade – Dec 11, 2021
Feel as though you’ve escaped to a small-town fishing village during the Marina Del Rey Boat Parade. Bring a blanket and gather around Fisherman’s Village or Burton Chace Park to watch as 70 boats glide through the marina with holiday lights and decorations in competition. Categories include Best Theme, Best Animation, Best Band, Best Lights, and more. The festivities begin at 5:55 pm with fireworks, and the boat parade starts at 6 pm, rain or shine.

The California Great Santa Stroll – Hermosa Beach Pier Dec.11th 9-11am
The California Great Santa Stroll benefitting Mychal’s Learning Place is a 5k event that raises much-needed funds to expand Mychal’s after-school and job training programs.
The California Great Santa Stroll is part of a world competition for the most Santa’s gathered in one location. The event is a run, walk, or even stroll for our friends in strollers or wheelchairs.
